My favorite things we did on the field trip were when we looked for gems and when we made makeup.
I liked it when we looked for gems because it was really fun. When I finally got my tube I was ready to get a pan and start to look for gems. I went to a spot where there weren't a lot of people so I could get most of the gems. I found a lot of different colored gems. There were some with poka dots, turquoze ones, and my favorite, purple ones. After I finished, I finally got to put them in my tube and wear it as a necklace. I love to look for gems.
I also liked it when we made makeup because I learned a lot of new things. I never knew that makeup was made out of rocks and minerals. When the teachers were passing out the makeup, I was worried that I would get some in my eye, but ot didn't and it looked wonderful. Making makeup is really fun.
This was one of the best field trips I have ever been to. Ana

I learned that a July birth stone is a robe. And the earth is moving 900 miles pure hour. A February birth stone is a amethyst. When the amethyst gets water in it it forms Cristal’s.MGW

Tellus
If you are in third grade you get to go to the Tellus museum. It is a rocks and mineral museum. When we got there we saw a giant rock with bouch of crystals in it. Then, we went to the gift shop. There were some cool toys in there. Next, we went to a thing were it was swing back and forewords and there was blocks on the floor and it hit it over. Then, we went into the rock gallery. There were some cool rocks in there. Next, we did this mining thing and if you got some you put it into a necklace thing. I think that was the best day of my life. HCC

A few days ago I went to the Tellus Musmem. I saw my birth stone witch was dimond. It was cool. I also saw this thing that swung a lot and hit blocks. I think it was called a pendelum. We also saw a mineral gallery with crystals and minerals. After that everyone went to the podium and had lunch and saw many trucks. Then we went to the bathroom and we all drove away. It was awmome! Our class went on a fieldtrip to “The Tellus Museum” on Monday, November 14, 2011. The Tellus Museum taught our class about rocks and minerals. Learning about rocks and minerals was very interring and fun. I learned that minerals are made form volcano rocks that have open bubble holes like a pizza. During our trip we also went to the souvenir shop which was also interesting. BS
