This week, we are reading a story about fables and proverbs. Fables have been used for many generations to teach important lessons. One of the most famous creators of fables, is a man named Aesop, who was a slave in Ancient Greece.
For this blog post, I would like you to use this link to access an online collection of his fables. Read a few, and then choose one you would like to respond to, or want to share with the class.
Include a brief summary of the fable, and the lesson that was taught. Also, if you have heard a similar story, or someone has tried to teach you the same lesson, you might want to tell about that as well.
Be sure to include your initials in your reply.

"The lioness"is about a lion (male) asking a lioness How many cubs do you have? The lioness replied,"Why do you ask, I only have one." The moral is:the value is more important than the number.

The Ants and the Grasshopper
On a hot summer day once lived a grasshopper that loved to sing, play, and rest. All day long he he sang, played, and rested. While he was sitting under a tree, he saw a bunch of ants marching by his side. He asked them, "What are you doing?" The ants responded, " We are saving food for the cold winter days" This went on for the reat of the summer and when fall finally came, the grasshopper was freezing and he didn't have anything to eat. So he went by house and house asking the ants if they could give aby food to him and they all said "No."

The Fable I read was the Ant and the Grasshopper. It was an interesting fable. There was a grasshopper that didn't want to collect food because he was too busy singing and dancing. One afternoon, an Ant was carrying some corn and the Grasshopper asked "why are you carrying that corn?" The Ant responded "I'm carrying corn for the winter." The Grasshopper said why for the winter it is still summer and there is plenty to eat now. The ant went on about his buisness. In that winter, the grasshopper was dying of hunger while the ants had plenty to eat. The lesson is "it is best to prepare for the day of necessity." I can relate this to my life because if I don't practice my soccer everyday, then I won't be prepared for the big games. If you do things now, you will be prepared for later. ARH
I did “The Bee and Jupiter.” Here is the summary. The bee went to a place to see the Jupiter. He was going to sting anyone who tries to touch the Jupiter. Then the Jupiter said.” The stinger will get stuck in her wound, and you will die. The bee said “I don’t care.” It was a good fable. That is the summary. I pick this one because when I read it I thought it was a good lesson. The moral was” Evil wishes, like chickens, come home to roast.

The Name of my fable: The Lion and the Eagle
The fable theme is to try before you trust. What that means is you must do an activity with a person before you can trust them. Because you can make a deal with someone and you thought you could trust and then they break the deal. This should be a very valuable decision in life. BS
